The cloud is as secure as the way you set it up. Most incidents come from a handful of avoidable mistakes, not from clever attackers.

Lock the doors

Start with access.

  • Two factor sign in on every account
  • Separate accounts for each person, never shared logins
  • Only the access each person needs
  • Remove access the day someone leaves

Keep it updated and backed up

Apply updates promptly, encrypt sensitive data and keep tested backups outside the account that holds the live system.

Watch for trouble

Turn on alerts for unusual sign ins and spending, and review who has access every few months. Early warnings turn disasters into minor events.
