Most website delays come from missing material, not from the build. A few hours of preparation before the project starts saves weeks later and keeps the quote accurate.

Decide what the site must do

Write down the one or two actions a visitor should take, such as send an enquiry, book a visit or buy a product. Every page is then judged against those actions.

Gather your material

Collect what you already have so nobody waits for it later.

  • Your logo and brand colours
  • Photos of your work, team and premises
  • Text for the main services and your story
  • Your address, hours, phone number and email
  • Logins for your domain and any current site

Name one decision maker

Projects slow down when five people give different feedback. Pick one person to approve each stage, and agree how long feedback should take.
